East meets West with a contemporary cast in the Formakami lighting collection from designer Jaime Hayon for Danish brand &tradition. The ultra-light pendant series echoes age-old Asian rice paper lanterns while mixing various forms and sizes together with a modern air. Symbolically, a lamp chases away the darkness by bringing hope, says Jaime about his refashioning of the elements. “By making the bottom part of the lamp open, the idea is to bring even more illumination to people everywhere in the world.” A lovely thought to ponder while considering the Formakami series, handcrafted in 3 versions in ivory rice paper with black-stained oak accents.
